Privacy Policy

Overview
Ally is designed for parents and caregivers who support a child with routines and emotional regulation. Children may use Ally with adult setup, supervision, or support. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to families.
By using Ally, you confirm that you are a parent, guardian, caregiver, or other authorized adult responsible for the child profile you create in the app.
Information We Collect
The email address provided during onboarding is used to create a local profile on your device. Ally does not create a server account or store that email in a backend database in the current app.
Ally stores core app data on your device using local storage, including child profile details, routines, task completion status, preferences, and other information you choose to enter.
When analytics are enabled, we collect usage, screen, lifecycle, device, app, diagnostics, error information, and a locally generated analytics user ID to understand app performance and improve the product.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide the app experience, remember routines and preferences, improve reliability, troubleshoot problems, and communicate with parents or caregivers about Ally when needed.
We process information only where necessary to provide Ally, maintain security, improve functionality, comply with legal obligations, or where consent has been provided.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use child profile information for advertising.
Children and Family Data
Ally is intended for parent or caregiver-controlled family use and is not designed for independent use by children under the age of 13.
Ally is a family support tool controlled by an adult. We do not knowingly ask children to create accounts or provide contact information directly.
Parents and caregivers should avoid entering sensitive information that is not needed to use the app. A nickname can be used for a child profile.
Analytics and Tracking
Ally may use analytics technologies to understand app usage, diagnose issues, and improve performance. These tools use a locally generated ID and do not receive your onboarding email, child profile details, routine contents, or task contents.
Analytics tools do not serve personalized advertising based on child profile information.
Service Providers
Ally does not use a backend database or authentication provider for account creation in the current app. Local profile, child profile, routine, and task history data are not sent to a backend database.
We may use PostHog for analytics and error reporting. PostHog processes information only to help us operate and improve Ally.
If analytics features are disabled in a build, analytics data is not sent to PostHog from that build.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
No method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries outside your place of residence. We take reasonable steps to ensure information is handled securely and according to this policy.
Retention and Choices
Local app data remains on your device until you clear it in the app, reset the app, or uninstall the app.
You can clear your local profile, child profile, routines, and task history from the Me screen by choosing Clear my data.
Analytics data, when present, is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your use of Ally.
